Common Consensus: a web-based game for collecting commonsense goals
نویسندگان
چکیده
In our research on Commonsense reasoning, we have found that an especially important kind of knowledge is knowledge about human goals. Especially when applying Commonsense reasoning to interface agents, we need to recognize goals from user actions (plan recognition), and generate sequences of actions that implement goals (planning). We also often need to answer more general questions about the situations in which goals occur, such as when and where a particular goal might be likely, or how long it is likely to take to achieve. In past work on Commonsense knowledge acquisition, users have been directly asked for such information. Recently, however, another approach has emerged—to entice users into playing games where supplying the knowledge is the means to scoring well in the game, thus motivating the players. This approach has been pioneered by Luis von Ahn and his colleagues, who refer to it as Human Computation. Common Consensus is a fun, self-sustaining web-based game, that both collects and validates Commonsense knowledge about everyday goals. It is based on the structure of the TV game show Family Feud1. A small user study showed that users find the game fun, knowledge quality is very good, and the rate of knowledge collection is rapid. A Turing Game for Commonsense Knowledge Extraction By
Commonsense is of primary interest to AI research since the inception of the field. Traditionally, commonsense knowledge is gathered by using humans to create and insert it in knowledge bases. Automating the collection of commonsense from text that is freely available can reduce the cost and effort of creating large knowledge bases and can enable systems that dynamically adapt to current releva...

Collecting commonsense knowledge from freely available text can reduce the cost and effort of creating large knowledge bases. For the acquired knowledge to be useful, we must ensure that it is correct, and that it carries information about its relevance and about the context in which it can be considered commonsense. In this paper, we design, and evaluate an online game that classifies, using t...
متن کاملThe Concept Game: Better Commonsense Knowledge Extraction by Combining Text Mining and a Game with a Purpose
Common sense collection has long been an important subfield of AI. This paper introduces a combined architecture for commonsense harvesting by text mining and a game with a purpose. The text miner module uses a seed set of known facts (sampled from ConceptNet) as training data and produces candidate commonsense facts mined from corpora. The game module taps humans’ knowledge about the world by ...

A Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart (CAPTCHA) is a challenge-response test used on the Internet to prevent bots from accessing web services that are designed for humans. In this paper, we propose Automatic Game-based CAPTCHA Generation (AGCG), in which an AI system generates games that, when played, distinguish between humans and bots. The gamebased CAPT...
متن کاملHuman Computation Game for Commonsense Data Verification
Games With A Purpose (or GWAP) provide an effective way to collect data from web users. As the data grow over time, it becomes increasingly important to verify the data collected. This research explores the design of two games, Top10 and Pirate & Ghost, for verification of sentences in our Common Sense Knowledge Base (CSKB) collected via the Virtual Pets game. Top10 is a single-player game, in ...
